    1 Second Every Day

I hate to be that person, but I can’t believe we are already halfway through the year. I meant to post this at the beginning of July but the month has already started to get away from me. This year has held it’s fair share of ups and downs. It’s flow by, but at the same time, seemed have dragged by. We don’t have any major trips planned for the year. That’s a first for us. But I am grateful we still find a way to find a little adventure each week, it’s month, even if we are just exploring our own neck of the woods. We are firm believers in being tourists in your own town, and thankfully Texas is huge and we have only begun to scratch the surface!

Life can be so hard. So unfair. It’s so easy to ask, why me?? But there is still good to be found while in the middle of the hard. This is the fifth year I have documented the year with the app 1 Second Everyday. It is truly my favorite app! It’s helped me find the good in each day, even it’s something as simple as stopping to enjoy and capture a summer rainstorm, cuddles with the dog, or a beautiful sunset, there is always good to be found and to be grateful for.

It’s so fun to look back at previous years in this format. Here is the first full year I did, 2015!

And here is January through June of this year!

    Sherwood Forest Faire

This past weekend we visited the Sherwood Forest Faire in McDade, east of Austin. We had kept seeing ads for it and when I came across discounted tickets thanks to Costco we decided to give it a try. I didn’t honestly have very high hopes for it, thinking it wouldn’t be as great as my much loved, and missed Maryland Ren Fest, but I was actually blown away!
